Friends of Brilliant Star is a volunteer-run charity aiming to raise vital funds and resources for the Brilliant Star Schools and Kindergartens in the PacificIslands. With your help, we can continue providing much needed resources like books, stationery and equipment that can empower children and their communities.

 

What's new

Muyu Brilliant Star Kindergarten in Aragip have now received their building materials to upgrade the shed. Fundraising was done in Mackay to purchase them. The village members moved the heavy materials by boar to lower Daga where more members arrived to carry the materials for 2 days to the village.They have arrived and started to cement the shed floor and will. continue to work with two volunteer carpenters to do the work to upgrade the shed so that is suitable for the kindergarten children.

The curriculum for the 2 classes have been sent and the children will also start a handwashing and teeth cleaning program when school starts

PURITAN Brilliant Star School in Malaita is preparing to start their new year and will be adding grade one to the school. The three class curriculum has been prepared and sent to Honiara. Grade one will start jolly Phonics for the first time and preschool will start the Phonics mid year. The children will also start a handwashing program and teeth cleaning program when school starts.

Our Goals

1. To provide training for teachers that builds their capacity for service.

2. To build permanent infrastructure including classrooms, offices/libraries and halls through community contributions and involvement of other organizations and at some point, the Government.

3. To govern the progress of the Friends of Brilliant Star school and community development in terms of education.

4. To strengthen the schools financial and management system.

5. To acquire a quality Baha’i inspired curriculum that will foster the intellectual and spiritual development of children.
